elephant rocks state park styled shoot

My cup was so full after this weekend.

This past Saturday I was able to get a little creative with a stunning couple and do a styled engagement photoshoot. I woke up early and headed to Angela’s to pick up the gorgeous bouquet that she put together for the shoot. The bouquet was absolutely perfect and exactly what I had envisioned. If you are looking for a florist for your special day you can’t go wrong with Serendipity Floral Designs.

Pat and I met Natalie and Dawson at 4 pm and headed to Elephant Rocks State Park. I wanted to shoot at this location because I wanted something different than Missouri green fields. It’s almost like you are in Colorado. The rocks are huge and the views are so pretty. Natalie and Dawson were so much fun to work with and road trip with! We talked about our obsession with dogs and how we want to raise alpacas because they are just so weird lol.

Around 5:30 pm we finally arrived at the State Park. I mentioned to them that I always manage to get lost when trying to find the area with the biggest boulders. I took us the COMPLETELY wrong way. WHYYY? Who knows! Had all my camera gear on my back, Natalie was in her green silk dress, Pat was carrying the chair, and I was guarding the bouquet with my life. Sweat was dripping from the tip of my nose and we forgot the water back at the car. Still sorry. It was quite an adventure. We all decided that we needed a good workout anyways.

The light was perfect when we finally arrived at the right location. Natalie looked stunning in an emerald green dress that complimented perfectly with the colors in the bouquet. The three of us carefully climbed on top of some of the boulders and grabbed a few magical shots. My heart was just so happy being able to get creative and work with couples that are down for anything. If you are ever wanting to shoot at Elephant Rocks I would love to tag along!
