Missouri Engagement Photos

I have been looking forward to this engagement session for months. As soon as Jenna reached out to me, to ask if I could capture her wedding day I was so excited. I had the chance to meet both Jesse and Jenna before their engagement session, in their friends Austin and Makenzie’s wedding, that I also had the pleasure of capturing. They were so easy-going and absolute sweethearts.

Sunday evening I started the road-trip to Hermann, Missouri where Jenna’s family farm is located. I was still adjusting to the time change so I wanted to be sure I arrived extra early so we had time to capture all of the images! I drove down a long gravel road until my Waze said I had arrived. Jenna’s dad was at the farm with her brother, helping him get ready for hunting. Jenna’s dad was so kind. He gave me a tour through the old historic stone home that was still on the property and told me all about the layout of the land. It is a gorgeous piece of property that has so much history within it. I chatted with Jenna’s dad for a bit until Jesse and Jenna pulled up to the farm.

They hopped out of their car all smiles, along with Jenna’s mom. Jenna and Jesse are seriously the cutest couple ever. They have the happiest personalities and are such a fun time to be around. We started the session near the old brick home that Jenna’s grandpa used to live in. A gorgeous gold stone home, with lots of character. After that, we headed down to the old farm barn to capture the old barn wood in the background. Once the sun started to go down we headed across the field to where the large round hay bales and soybeans were. I love the look of soybeans when that golden light hits it.

Since the time change, we were still unsure when the sun would start to go down. I knew it would go down quickly, so I wanted to get across the field to get into that golden light. We saw the light starting to fade and knew we would not get there fast enough on foot. Jenna’s dad pulled up his truck and we hopped in back. He drove quickly over to the golden light. It was actually hilarious but it’s one of those “you had to be there” types of scenarios. Blue hour was starting to show up and the little moon was just peeping through the clouds.

This was one of my favorite engagement sessions to date. So much love and happiness throughout the entire evening. I am so looking forward to their spring wedding this April, I know it is going to be one for the books.
