My first trip to California and definitely not my last. Back in July Patrick and I flew to Los Angeles to visit his brother and attend my first styled shoot. On the day of the shoot I was a little nervous to be surrounded by other photogs and being newer. I just felt like maybe I would do something wrong and look like a fool. Classic me, always overthinking. Patrick circled around the block like five times because I couldn’t find the entrance. Then I went in a back way all the way up the stairs to the third floor. When I went to open the door it was locked & I panicked for a quick minute. A man answered and he helped me find the way and I needed to take a few deep breaths because so far everything I thought would go wrong, was…
When I entered the room I was in awe, the bright naturally lit studio was lined with florals, candles, and smelled of oranges. After all the photographers had arrived we split into two groups. My nerves vanished once we started shooting. The models Megan and Zac were absolutely stunning. Megan wore a beautiful BHLDN gown and Zac was showing off in a black velvet suit provided by Friar Tux. The shoot started off more classic and modern. We shot bridal portraits and then transitioned into the details. WHICH WERE PERFECT. The decor reminded me of sherbert, that orange and pink kind? Which is weird, I know, but it did.
Towards golden hour we wrapped up inside and then headed towards the rooftop of Rose LA Studios. Megan changed into the cutest jumpsuit and the vibe changed into a little more playful-romantic. We watched the sunset on the LA skyline and when blue-hour hit the sky turned the most perfect shade of pink. The Shootout Society went above and beyond & I can’t wait for their next styled shoot. This shoot was also featured over on the Wedding Vault’s blog, which you can see here!
Thank you to all the vendors who helped put together this beautiful styled shoot.
