With all of the downtime we’ve had since being in quarantine, I thought to myself, “why not have a home construction session with Patrick?” We just started building our new home out in Clover Bottom and I thought this would be a great way to document the home before it’s completed. A great memory to look back on after the home is finished. So we put on some comfy clothes and headed out to the property.
Quarantine, for the most part, hasn’t looked much different for Pat and I. We both still go to work and on weekends go out to the house and work on projects out there. But what has changed for me and other photographers, is not being able to go out and capture sweet memories for our brides, couples, and families.
My creative heart has been aching, so I dragged Pat out of the house, set up my camera and self-timer on my phone, and grabbed a few shots for us. This was a little harder than I anticipated. It was such a windy day, I was terrified that my camera was going to get blown over ( I need a stronger tripod). And having to toss my phone just in time to get us posed for a shot was a bit of a mess haha. But honestly, Pat and I had so much fun with this shoot. We drank a few bud lights, laughed hard when the wind blew and I looked like Cousin Itt, and talked about our future out here in Clover Bottom.
I can’t wait for our forever home to be finished and re-create this shoot. I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy during this crazy time. The unknown is scary, but there is light at the end of the tunnel.
